Assam Cabinet Approves 620 MW Of Renewable Energy Projects
The Assam Cabinet approved the setting up of 620 MW renewable energy projects. These projects are expected to create 1733 job opportunities at the construction and operation stages.
About 125 small scale producer enterprises and 1250 farmer families will also benefit from the proposed agricultural project. The Cabinet also approved the proposal to set up a 70 MW solar project at Khudigaon under Bilaspara Rajshahi Circle in Dhubri district of Assam. The electricity will be sold to the Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL). The project will be developed on a build, own and operate model.
Last November, APDCL invited tenders from consultants to prepare detailed project reports for a 1 GW grid connected solar project in Karbi Anglong district. The project will be constructed under the ‘Chief Minister’s Solar Power Prokolpo’ program and funded by the Asian Development Bank.

- 100 MW Tezpur Agricultural Voltage Project
- 40 MW Golaghat Floating Solar Project
- 200 MW Margherita Solar Project
- 50 MW Lower Kopili Agricultural Voltage Project
- 60 MW Chandrapur Solar Project
- 100 MW Batadrabha Agricultural Voltage Project
